Porsche 911. Another reason is that sports cars are a hot item for car thieves, and of course increased risk comes with increased premium.
Insurance companies believe that if you drive a sports car there is an increased risk you will be in an accident and that the accident will be more serious (and costly) than if you were driving a regular car, hence, a
higher premium charge. This may be a shocker at first for all the young professionals out there, but insuring a sports car is more expensive for owners under 30 years old.
